Biography

Despite having debuted in 2000 and having risen the ranks of becoming one of the most recognizable dance track groups in early k-pop, Kim Jong-min didn't go solo until 2011. After entering the army in 2008 and being released in 2010, Kim went through an image change. No longer more known for his singing, Kim jong min became a regular on variety shows for his comedic ways. He established a "ditzy/dense" image in many of the shows, including "1 Night 2 Days".

His debut song as a solo singer, "Be Strong Oppa", the song quickly rose onto some of the major charts. In fact, it beat out big singers such as Eru and f(x) to be 2nd on the popularity charts for ringtone downloads. It was sandwiched right in between 2NE1 and Sistar19.

The track can be described as having an antique sound with an intro featuring an electric organ. DayDay from the group Dalmatian featured as the rapper with Disc Brothers being the supporting producers.

In the middle of his solo promotions, reports surfaced of Koyote making a comeback as a trio (with Bbaeka back from being MIA due to a brain tumor) in August of 2011 for the first time in four years.
