Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Min, And Lee Yi Kyung Share Excitement As Their New Variety Show Becomes Permanent

Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Min, And Lee Yi Kyung Share Excitement As Their New Variety Show Becomes Permanent

As their new variety show “Tteokbokki Brothers” prepares for a permanent launch, Ji Suk JinKim Jong Min, and Lee Yi Kyung have shared their thoughts on their highly-anticipated reunion!

“Tteokbokki Brothers” is an MBC every1 reality show that follows Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Min, and Lee Yi Kyung as they run a tteokbokki (Korean spicy rice cakes) restaurant, as well as the stories of the celebrity and non-celebrity customers who come to visit the restaurant and chat.

After a successful 8-episode pilot run last fall, the show is becoming a permanent program—and after moving into a bigger space, the three “tteokbokki brothers” are open for business again.

Describing his reaction to the news that “Tteokbokki Brothers” had been picked up as a permanent show, Lee Yi Kyung recalled, “[Filming for the show] had felt like I was running an actual tteokbokki restaurant with hyungs [older male friends or brothers] that I really like in real life, so I was happy and excited to hear the news that I’d be able to see them again and we’d be able to get back together.”

Ji Suk Jin expressed confidence in their chemistry as a trio, explaining, “Our pilot shoot for ‘Tteokbokki Brothers’ was the first time I’d ever worked with Jong Min and Yi Kyung. But there was no friction or awkwardness, as though we’d been filming together for a long time already. They’re both guys with outstanding instincts when it comes to [shooting for] TV.”

He added, “Because they each understand their individual roles and do a great job, I’m looking forward to some incredible chemistry this time as well.”

Kim Jong Min also spoke highly of his co-stars, remarking, “Because they’re both so kind, we work really well together. Whenever there’s a gap or something that needs taken care of, regardless of who it is, they step up and smoothly fill that gap. That’s the kind of chemistry we have.”

“Tteokbokki Brothers” will air its official premiere as a permanent program on February 15 at 8:30 p.m. KST.

Na In Woo Gets Lost For Hours On His Very First Day On “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4”

On the February 13 episode of KBS’s “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4,” Na In Woo made his first appearance as the new cast member!

Back in January, KBS confirmed that actor Na In Woo would be joining the cast as a fixed member. The show, which took a break for a week, teased his appearance in previews, and the production staff gave an interview about how he had fitted into the cast.

In the February 13 episode, the cast set off to Jeongseon in Gangwon Province for winter weather training camp. Na In Woo arrived at the “training center” first and was told by the production staff to follow the path up to the base camp. But Na In Woo showed his unpredictable and clumsy side by going right past the “2 Days & 1 Night” flag and continuing up the mountain past the base camp. He talked to himself, saying, “I think they’ll be right around the corner. Or is this hide-and-seek?” He found the final ribbon and started coming up with reasons why it might have been ripped off while being filmed by the drone camera above.

Instead of turning back, he forged his own path and continued up the mountain. Tired out from hiking, he said, “There are footprints, but there is no one here. I’ve never walked this much before. I’ve never done a hide-and-seek like this before.” After two and a half hours of walking, he finally began to get suspicious.

Producing director (PD) Bang Geul Yi was informed of the situation and she said in concern, “I think we have to pick him up but is he even in a place where we can pick him up?” She requested that Na In Woo’s cameraman (VJ) make an approximate guess of where they were. After realizing it would take them another two hours to get back, she decided to rescue them.

By this point, the members were already at the training center and had lit a fire. PD Bang Geul Yi said, “There was someone who entered the training center before you.” The members wondered if it was a guest, like survival master Kim Byung Man, but Moon Se Yoon said, “Normally they use words like ‘invited’ and ‘coming,’ but if they said ‘enter,’ it’s someone we’re going to see for a while.” Ravi agreed and said, “Yes, since we’re the only ones who enrol.” The other members decided to show their “tough” sides to the newbie when the PD confirmed that it was a new member. Yeon Jung Hoon said, “We’re very shy. It’ll take two years to get close to us.”

Bang Geul Yi then revealed, “Our plan was to have the new member arrive first and get close with the members one by one. But he completely upended our plans by not seeing the placard on the other side of the river and climbing that mountain over there for about three hours. The production staff had to mount an emergency rescue mission and he’s coming here now.”

Kim Jong Min said, “He’s even worse than me. It’s amazing how you find members like this.” Yeon Jung Hoon added with a laugh, “I think you pick very strange members.”

When Na In Woo finally met up the members, they first marveled at his height, which he told them was 188 cm (about 6’2″). DinDin later got on a milk box in order to be able to see eye-to-eye with him. Na In Woo put on his winter training parka and hat and made Kim Jong Min happy by saying, “I’ll follow you, the ace.” Asked why he had chosen to appear on “2 Days & 1 Night,” he said, “To see you all!” He added that DinDin was beautiful, Ravi was cool, and Kim Jong Min was perfect.

He also introduced himself to the viewers, saying, “To the fans around the world, to everyone watching in Korea, I will be on ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ starting today. I’m lacking in many ways, but I believe the other members will help me a lot, and will work hard to be a good younger member to them. I will capture their hearts.”

they will read letter where they write to themselves  on epi 11-12 1 1 years ago

“2 Days & 1 Night” Season 4 Cast Read About Their Wild Predictions In Letters From One Year Ago

On the February 21 episode of KBS’s “2 Days & 1 Night” Season 4, the cast continued their “time travel” special.

At the base camp, the members opened the letters that they had written to themselves and to the members a year ago. None of the members were excited at the prospect, with Ravi trying to run away and Kim Seon Ho hiding his face in embarrassment on the floor. DinDin suggested they bury the letters for another year, but PD (producing director) Bang Geul Yi brought them out anyway.

Before they opened their letters, DinDin said, “We still didn’t know each other well back then and we were awkward around each other.” Moon Se Yoon said, “I’m good at talking but not good at expressing how I feel in writing. I rarely exchanged letters even with my wife.”

The members decided to read each other’s letters instead of each person reading his own. Ravi read Kim Seon Ho’s letter, which was earnest about his desire to take on new challenges through the show and continue to stay humble, and made Kim Seon Ho run around in embarrassment. To Kim Jong Min, Kim Seon Ho had written, “To my role model, I should have taken your place by now, right?” Ravi suddenly stopped in the middle of reading and said, “He sent me off too. He wrote in this letter that he’s going to visit me in the military.”

Ravi had made a bunch of wild predictions in his letter, such as Moon Se Yoon losing 30 kilograms (about 66 pounds), Kim Jong Min receiving a big award at the KBS Entertainment Awards as well as getting married and having a child, all of which had turned out wrong. Yeon Jung Hoon‘s letter was full of warmth and passion, but also bored the members with its seriousness.

Kim Jong Min’s letter also made some crazy and hilarious predictions, such as a third child for both Yeon Jung Hoon and Moon Se Yoon and a first child for Kim Seon Ho “after he met someone on a drama set.” He also “predicted” that DinDin would get married to an older woman and “congratulated” Ravi on getting married and having a kid in the middle of completing his mandatory military service. He also hoped that he himself would have just come back from a honeymoon with a new baby in store.

Most hilariously, Kim Jong Min also predicted that PD Bang Geul Yi would be the head of the department and be traveling the world with a husband twelve years younger than she was.

But the letter ended on a good note as Yeon Jung Hoon noted that Kim Jong Min trusted the members more now than he had a year ago. Kim Jong Min explained, “I’ve been on this show for 14 years and I’ve met a lot of people. You can’t tell how long someone will be here at the start, and there were people here who had never done variety before. But now it feels like we’re walking the same path together.”

Moon Se Yoon’s letter embarrassed him with how much self-love he expressed, while DinDin was all about the awards he wanted to win. DinDin did win an award at the 2020 KBS Entertainment Awards, but he failed to predict that Ravi would not win an award and that Moon Se Yoon and Yeon Jung Hoon would.

“2 Days & 1 Night” PD Shares Thoughts On New Cast’s 1-Year Anniversary + Names Kim Seon Ho As Member Who’s Changed Most

https://www.soompi.com/article/1442899wpp/2-days-1-night-pd-shares-thoughts-on-new-casts-1-year-anniversary-names-kim-seon-ho-as-member-whos-changed-the-most

As KBS 2TV’s “2 Days & 1 Night” celebrates the one-year anniversary of its fourth season, producing director (PD) Bang Geul Yi sat down for an interview to look back on the past year.

On December 8, the current cast of “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4” rang in their first anniversary of their time on the hit variety show. Expressing her gratitude to the program’s loyal viewers, PD Bang Geul Yi remarked, “2020 was a very difficult year in many ways, but I think just the fact that we were able to keep going without taking a break was in and of itself a huge blessing. Although there are inevitably moments when we feel exhausted, we were able to successfully reach our first anniversary because of the support of the viewers who wait for our program at the same time every week.”

The PD also talked about what she thinks sets the current season of “2 Days & 1 Night” apart from previous seasons.

“To be honest, most of our cast members were beginners for whom this was their first reality-variety show,” said Bang Geul Yi. “I think what set this season apart was the way you could see the members growing and improving in many different ways, like Kim Jong Min’s unending growth as ‘the intermittent ace’ instead of just his ‘excited simpleton’ image.”

When asked to name the cast member who has changed the most since she first met him, the PD replied, “Kim Seon Ho has changed a lot, in a good way. Up until he started letting his natural side show through, you could sometimes sense a little shyness or hesitation on his part. These days, however, you can see he’s having fun [during filming], and he’s showing the side of himself that I was looking forward to seeing from the beginning. He’s a fun member to keep an eye on.”

As for what she considered the greatest challenge she’d faced thus far in the season, Bang Geul Yi shared, “Of course there were coronavirus-related difficulties, but the hardest thing for me as a producing director was the ‘Magnificent Vacation’ episode that we filmed during the rainy season. We spent all day running around in the pouring rain trying to make our Plan B and C possible and responding to the [weather] situation.”

“The entire crew, including the cast members, came together as one and followed my lead,” she went on, “and I could really feel then that ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ is a program that all of us work together to create. It felt great, because I knew I could count on them.”

“2 Days & 1 Night Season 4” airs on Sundays at 6:30 p.m. KST.

On October 10, MBC’s “How Do You Play?” showed viewers the process of Refund Expedition recording their debut track, “Don’t Touch Me.”
In the episode, manager Kim Ji Sub (Kim Jong Min) was sent to pick up Chun Ok (Lee Hyori) from the airport after she flew up from her home on Jeju Island. Kim Jong Min and Lee Hyori are the same age and have both been active in their careers for 20 years.
Lee Hyori asked, “Do you remember the first time we met?” Kim Jong Min said, “I don’t remember the first time, but I remember once in Australia, we finished rehearsals and I was drinking alone at a restaurant. You must have felt pity for me because you called me over and said, ‘Let’s rink together.’ You take care of the weak and fight with the strong.” About why they weren’t close while they were at the peak of their careers, Kim Jong Min said, “You were part of the 79 club. They were all main vocalists and stars. I wanted to be in that club, but I thought I would look pathetic there, so I couldn’t join them.”

Lee Hyori said, “I always think that I shouldn’t lose to the strong. It’s a problem. I don’t know why I act that way towards the broadcast executives or the advertisement company executives.” Kim Jong Min said, “I can’t win at all. I don’t have any thoughts of winning. If someone curses at Shinji? She responds even more strongly. I have to be there to hold her back. If someone hits me in the back of my head and says they don’t like me? I’ll get angry, but I’ll just go. If I stay there, I’ll probably just get hit some more.” Lee Hyori said admiringly, “There’s a lot I could learn from you.”

Watch: Kim Jong Min, Lee Sang Min, And Jang Do Yeon Use K-Pop To Teach Foreigners About Korea In New Variety Show

Kim Jong Min, Lee Sang Min, and Jang Do Yeon have been chosen as the new MCs of upcoming tvN variety show “K-pop Cultural Center.”
“K-pop Cultural Center” is a variety show where you can learn about Korea and its culture in a fun and easy way through K-pop.
Each episode will feature popular singers as daily instructors, and they will give their own singing lectures for ten foreign students who love K-pop. Foreign cast members of various nationalities will experience Korean culture indirectly through songs.
Hosted by Kim Jong Min, Lee Sang Min, and Jang Do Yeon, the program will have a cheerful atmosphere. The three MCs will represent Korean culture from the perspective of Koreans and help the students understand Korea better. They will also assist the foreign students in learning songs, and it will be interesting to see what kinds of performances they will showcase.
In one teaser, Jang Do Yeon and Lee Sang Min humorously come out of the subway while using lyrics from Yoo San Seul’s (Yoo Jae Suk‘s) “Hapjeong Station Exit No. 5.” The two foreigners standing at the exit muffle their laughter at their grand entrance but eventually break out into a funky dance with the MCs.
In the second teaser, Kim Jong Min enters the elevator while saying the lyrics of Roo’ra’s “The Angel Who Lost Wings.” The three male foreigners in the elevator burst into laughter as Kim Jong Min starts dancing to the song.
In another teaser, Kim Jong Min and Lee Sang Min sit outside a cafe near a foreign couple. Kim Jong Min uses the lyrics from Koyote’s “Genuine” to act out a situation in which Kim Jong Min wants to get back together with his girlfriend and Lee Sang Min gives him advice. They shock the couple by suddenly breaking out into a dance.

The production crew commented, “Music contains all the cultures of life, from the language and philosophy of the times and the feelings of joy and sorrow, to romance, family, and social trends. One of the best ways to understand a country is to learn its songs. Through K-pop, which is creating a global craze, it will be fun to teach foreigners who have affection for Korea about the Korean language and Korean sentiment and culture, and the diverse cultural differences that emerge in the process will be entertaining.”
“K-pop Cultural Center” will premiere on February 10 at 8:10 p.m. KST.

During their car ride, Kim Jong Min said, “I was shocked when I saw the article about Yeon Jung Hoon [joining the cast]. How did it happen?” The actor replied, “I’d been wanting to appear on variety shows for a while,” and the other members reacted with surprise. DinDin joked, “Oh, but the shows didn’t cast you.”

Moon Se Yoon later asked Kim Jong Min, “Which of the new members do you think will see the most benefit from appearing on ‘2 Days & 1 Night’?” Kim Jong Min answered, “Kim Seon Ho.”
When asked about how he had ended up appearing on the show, Kim Seon Ho explained, “When I received the offer, I was worried because I wasn’t sure if I could do a good job. But I thought it’d be fun, and I was a fan of the show. So I asked the staff about the other members, but they wouldn’t tell me [who else was appearing] up until the very end.”
Moon Se Yoon then made everyone laugh by joking, “So by the time you saw the other members, it was already too late for you to back out.”
