After various conflicting reports, the final decision has been made on the 2017 KBS Entertainment Awards.
On December 12, a source from KBS confirmed that the event will not be occurring this year.
Most KBS variety PDs have been taking part in the strike that has been going on since September 4. As a result, various programs have been off-air, and it appears difficult to hold the Entertainment Awards.
The 2017 KBS Song Festival and 2017 KBS Drama Awards will still be held on December 29 and 31, respectively. As announced previously, the Song Festival will be on a much smaller-scale than most years.

Cha Tae Hyun Shares Update On “2 Days & 1 Night” During KBS Strike
“2 Days & 1 Night” cast member Cha Tae Hyun has talked about the status of the beloved KBS variety show during the current strike.
Cha Tae Hyun was interviewed on December 13 about his new film “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds,” and the actor and variety star mentioned “2 Days & 1 Night.”
“It’s our 100th day of not being able to film ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ because of the strike,” he said.
“There’s still some footage left,” he said. “There’s about four weeks of footage that was filmed overseas, but it’s still not able to be broadcast because of the strike.”
A company-wide strike began at KBS on September 4 as employees call for the resignation of network president Ko Dae Young, which has led to many shows going on hiatus.
Although “2 Days & 1 Night” did air several new episodes during this period because higher level executives and external staff were called in to produce the show, it has since returned to airing special episodes.
