Koyote comes back with a 70-80’s look

One of the first unisex idol groups in Korea have come back with an old school, 70-80’s theme.
Koyote has been in the music industry for a total of 17 years and are a legendary group for bringing exciting, techno style dance songs in to K-pop.

On the 21st of January in a small cafe at Hongdae, Koyote held a press conference concerning their newest mini album titled “1999”. Despite having been in the industry for a whopping 17 years, this was actually their first ever press conference, and so all three members admitted to being quite nervous.

The reason why they named their mini-album “1999” was because 1999 was the year in which they were most active during their career. Although their fashion concept isn’t exactly representative of the style in 1999 (as their album name suggests), the main objective of this 70-80’s concept was simply to make it look as old fashioned as possible.

Furthermore, according to one of the members (Bbaekga), who also has experience as a photographer, explained that they went for the concept once promoted by one of Korea’s earliest boy groups, Sobangcha, in the 80’s.

The mini-album will be officially released on the 22nd of January, with other songs titled “Why Are You Like This”, “Snow is Falling”, “Hug Me” and “After Winter Passes”.

Without a doubt, Koyote has been a favorite for many Koreans, and news of their comeback was a positive surprise.
