As it was speculated earlier, it has been confirmed that KBS 2TV‘s ‘1 Night 2 Days‘ will not be airing a new episode this weekend nor the next weekend.
On April 25th, a representative of KBS revealed, “It has been confirmed that ’1 Night 2 Days’ will not air a new episode for 2 weeks.” They stated that this was because with the main production director, Choi Jae Hyung, and the production staff joined the union strike, the show was unable to capture enough footage to broadcast an episode.
Without PD Choi, ’1 Night 2 Days’ tried to enforce recording under other executives, but the recording was cancelled, and thus, the program delay was inevitable.
The KBS representative stated that on April 29th and May 6th, ’1 Night 2 Days’ will substitute their time slot with special broadcasts. However, the concept of the special episodes have not been decided yet. They also revealed that the ’1 Night 2 Days’ members have been notified about the delay.

On April 20th, KBS‘s variety department’s staff member, Park Joong Min, revealed that ‘1 Night 2 Days‘ might not be able to make the deadline for the next broadcast.
He revealed, “The filming that was originally scheduled for the 20th was canceled due to internal matters. This week, we’ll be broadcasting footage from Jeonnam, Kangjin. We are still in discussion for next week’s broadcast. We’ll have to work out the schedules of the cast for the next filming so nothing has been decided yet.”
Originally, the ’1 Night 2 Days’ cast was meant to work with executive PDs (producing directors) to make up for PD Choi Jae Hyung, who is participating in the ongoing strike.
allkpopUnfortunately, filming has been abruptly canceled, leading to a possible no-show for the April 29th broadcast.
The recording of ‘1 Night 2 Days‘ has been cancelled for this week.
KBS2′s ’1 Night 2 Days’ was scheduled to be filmed on April 6th and 7th, but has been abandoned due to labor union strikes that have been taking place at KBS.
Recently ’1N2D’ Choi Jae Hyung PD, ‘Qualification of Men‘ Cho Sung Sook PD, ‘Gag Concert‘ Suh Soo Min PD, ‘Win Win‘ Park Ji Young PD and others have joined in the new labor union strikes at KBS, so it seems most of the variety shows for KBS will not begin recording for the time being.
A source within KBS stated, “Currently ’1N2D’ will air what has already been filmed and hopefully the next broadcast will go according to plan.”
On April 1st the third episode filmed at Chungsun was shown. The Chungsun episode was broadcast the previous two weeks, and this third episode focused on scenes that were previously not shown, and left viewers wondering if this had been due to the strike. However, a staff member at KBS revealed, “The Chungsun trip was already planned to air in three different episodes,” but many still feel that it was due to the labor union strikes.
Choi Jae Hyung PD who is currently leading the new season of ’1N2D’ has been involved with the labor union strikes, and on April 4th at 2pm KST, the different PD’s from KBS’s varieties shows entered a new labor union strike, and will hold an emergency press conference to explain their decision.
Let’s hope for a speedy resolution so that the situation does not end up like MBC!
